For the second year in a row, Face the Music Foundation is pleased to accept a grant from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund program established by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The grant will help Face the Music Foundation’s Get in Tune program combat substance abuse in local communities and facilitate better access to addiction treatment for those who need it. This resources will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, making it possible for us to double the number of clubs who will participate in the Get in Tune Program this year.

The Get in Tune Program offers prevention, education and treatment-assistance resources to local communities throughout Florida in order to curb the proliferation of drug addiction in the state. Face the Music is committed to insulating young people from addiction through our educational programs and other music-driven initiatives like concerts, giveaways and more. We are grateful to have such a generous donor in the Broward County Sherriff’s Office, which remains equally committed to educating young people about the long-term dangers of substance abuse, and helping residents affected by addiction find quality care.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that there were 2,798 opioid-related overdose deaths in Florida in 2016. Grants like the one we received from the Broward County Sherriff’s Office represent vital resources in reversing this tragic and alarming trend. We are happy to work side by side local law enforcement as they move toward more effective prevention strategies through education, outreach and advocacy. Our organization is always happy to receive backing and support from organizations who share our vision and will work with us to keep Florida safe and substance free.
