CNN Heroes: Music Mends Minds

While quarantine measures help protect seniors from catching Covid-19, social isolation is having a devastating effect on their mental well-being. Carol Rosenstein is finding that her mission of using music to help people battling neurodegenerative diseases has a new importance.

As the founder of this organization says, in the piece…”Music is Medicine, with the side effect of….PURE JOY!”  We know that music fires the neurotransmitters in the brain, that release Dopamine.  Helps with retention, boosts mood, reduces sadness, lowers blood pressure, lessens post-acute withdrawal symptoms and brings people together! And these attributes, collectively are just the tip of the iceberg.  Love all, serve all, rock on.  We’re excited to be bringing our GET IN TUNE program for at-risk youth into the virtual space later this year in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County!
