“A Father’s Promise”: A Film Narrating the Journey of a Sandy Hook Father and the Path to Healing Through Music
Next week marks the 11th anniversary of the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
A new documentary will be streaming to commemorate this event. This film highlights the story of a father who lost his son on that fateful day and the commitment he made to honor his memory.
Titled “A Father’s Promise,” the documentary is spearheaded by musician Sheryl Crow, serving as its executive producer. The narrative unfolds Mark Barden’s evolution from a musician to an activist, emphasizing his use of music as a means of healing.
Mark Barden is not only the central figure in the documentary but also the Co-Founder and CEO of the Sandy Hook Promise Action Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of gun violence.
In anticipation of the documentary’s premiere on Friday night at Look Cinemas in Manhattan, we had the opportunity to speak with the film’s director, Rick Korn.
